Jersey Airport roadworks to cost £750,000

  • Published

Jersey's government will spend £750,000 resurfacing the roads leading to the airport for the first time in 23 years.

The Transport and Technical Services department said the roads were in urgent need of repair and work would start in 2012.

Roadworks and particularly cold weather in 2010 left the surface in poor condition and with pot holes.

The work will start in January and last until May and will happen at night to minimise impact on airline passengers.

The transport department said that despite the nighttime work there would still be some road diversions.

A website will be set up with updates on the roadworks and traffic. There will also be a public exhibition on the scheme from Wednesday at the Jersey Aero Club.
