Jersey beach lifeguards start patrols three weeks early

The lifeguards will run a water safety course for young children
Jersey's beach lifeguards will start work three weeks earlier than usual to cover the May Bank Holiday.
The RNLI said there would also be more patrols throughout the summer season.
It is the second year the lifeboat charity has been in charge of Jersey's Lifeguard service after taking over from the States of Jersey.
From Saturday 5 May safety patrols will start on St Ouen's beach to protect islanders over the bank holiday weekend and on 9 May for Liberation Day.
Another change for the service includes bringing safety patrols on Greve De Lecq beach in two months earlier than previous years.
From the 19 May lifeguards will start working on Plemont beach, St Brelade's Bay and Greve De Lecq.
