Condor Ferries could change the English ports it sails to, according to the firm's new boss.
James Fulford took over the managing director role on 1 January.
At the moment Condor Ferries travels from Jersey and Guernsey to Poole and Portsmouth and has plans to return to Weymouth later this year.
Mr Fulford said he was keen to find out which ports were more popular with travellers and to adapt the service to suit customers.
He intends to sit down with government and islanders to find out what sort of service they want for the future.
He said the company would ask travellers if weather capability was more important than speed and which ports people wanted to go to.
"The interesting thing is we have got a clean sheet of paper now," he said.
"We need to make sure we provide people with what they want and don't provide them with what they don't want to pay for."
