A man has been rescued after falling from rocks and fracturing his hip.

It happened at Les Minquiers reef, Jersey, at about 17:00 BST on Friday.

The RNLI was called and had to launch its Y-class daughter boat from the main lifeboat "George Sullivan" to reach the reef.

The man was put on a stretcher to bring him aboard and he was then taken to St Helier where paramedics took him to Jersey's General Hospital.

An RNLI spokesperson said he was "relatively comfortable and being well cared for" while he waited to be rescued.
