Teachers in Jersey intend to go ahead with more strikes in December, it has been confirmed.

The National Education Union confirmed the strikes would go ahead on Tuesday 12, Wednesday 13, and Thursday 14 December.

The union said its members were disappointed the government recently offered head teachers more money.

Union representatives are due to meet the States Employment Board again on Monday.

Analysis from Freddie Miller, Political Reporter at BBC Jersey

Three teaching unions have taken action during the pay dispute, which has now dragged on for much of the year.

The NAHT, which represents head teachers, came to an agreement last month.

It will see them get extra cash for pushing through educational reforms.

Meanwhile, the National Education Union remains in dispute... although it postponed three days of strikes - which had been planned for this week - in light of the disruption from Storm Ciarán.

Representative Caryn Symons tells me teachers were "angered" that the highest paid members of their profession - head teachers - have been offered more money, while the lowest paid have not been.

The NASUWT - another teaching union - also remains in dispute, and its members are working to rule.
