Rival protesters launched into a running battle of taunts and stone-throwing started as they came face-to-face near the Egyptian museum in Cairo's Tahrir Square on 2 February.

The anti-government protesters are seen at the top of the image, with the pro-Mubarak supporters at the bottom, as the army look on. The clashes lasted into the night and on into Thursday, leaving hundreds injured.
