Abortion debate: Why one woman decided to terminate her pregnancy
Kaitlan Ducken had an abortion six years ago.
This September, she joined protests in front of the US Congress in support of Planned Parenthood - the organisation that carried out the termination.
Funding for the non-profit group is a highly divisive issue with conservative and anti-abortion groups alleging Planned Parenthood sold foetal parts for profit. The group says foetal tissue is strictly a donation and up to the women obtaining the abortion.
Most of Planned Parenthood's work is for women's health issues that are not related to abortion, and clinics are blocked from using any federal funds for abortions. But federal and state officials have sought to end funding for the group.
