'Age is just a number, kid,' jokes Biden, 81, at White House ceremony

President Joe Biden, 81, has made light of being "old" as he awarded the highest US civilian honour to 19 recipients.

Activists, astronauts, politicians and Olympians gathered on Friday to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The honour goes to people who the White House believes have made significant contributions to art, culture and US society.
