It's not like Adele needs any more record-breaking titles to her name - but it seems the internet doesn't care.

Her single Hello has hit a billion views on YouTube in 87 days.

It's beaten Psy's Gangnam Style which took 158 days to hit a billion.

Adele's third album, 25, was the most popular of 2015 and it was only released in November. YouTube says there are 17 music videos which have reached a billion views on the platform.

They include Sugar by Maroon 5, Lean On by Major Lazer, Love The Way You Lie by Eminem, Party Rock by LMFAO, Counting Stars by OneRepublic, and Chandelier by Sia.

"A few years ago, only PSY's Gangnam Style and Justin Bieber's Baby had reached the milestone.

"And Baby took over four years to get there. Of the 17 videos that have reached one billion, four of these were released last year," according to YouTube's blog, external.

"While one billion views is rare, it's occurring at a faster rate.

"Since 2014, the number of days to reach one billion views has dropped dramatically. In 2013, the fastest track to one billion was Katy Perry's Roar at 487 days.

"In 2014, it was Taylor Swift's Blank Space at 238 days.

"In 2015 (and into 2016), Adele managed to set the bar at 87 days."
