Mission to take gold medal to the top of Mount Everest

They say making it to the Olympics and winning a medal is like climbing a massive mountain.

Explorer and adventurer Kenton Cool is combining those ideas and setting off on a mission to take a gold medal on the summit of Mount Everest.

He wants to honour an Olympic pledge made nearly 90 years ago by climbing the mountain.

The gold medal was awarded to the members of the British Everest Expedition in 1924.

But the climbers never reached the top because there was a huge avalanche and seven people lost their lives.

The Samsung Olympic Games Pledge mission will be the tenth time Kenton has climbed Mount Everest.
