Watch: Vatican's historic ceremony declares two popes saints

Catholics from around the world have travelled to Rome for an historic ceremony to declare two popes saints.

The Popes - John Paul II and John XXIII - led the Catholic church during different periods over the last hundred years.

When a Pope is declared a saint they are described as being canonised.

The ceremony on Sunday is historic because it is the first time two popes have been canonised at the same time.

Around one million people gathered for the event being held by the current leader of the Catholic church, Pope Francis.

Giant screens have been put up in Rome for those unable to get into the square and the ceremony has been broadcast live across the globe on TV and radio.
