What to do if you touch Giant Hogweed

Giant hogweed might look like an ordinary plant, but it's been causing problems for kids this summer.

The large weed, with white umbrella-shaped flower heads, is widespread along river banks and canal towpaths.

Poisonous sap, from small hairs on the stem of the weed, can cause severe blistering, which can take months to heal.

A&E nurse Jane Probert, at the Royal Bolton Hospital, tells Leah what children can do if they touch it.
