Adele's new album has been smashing records all over the world after becoming one of the fastest selling pieces of music in history.

The album '25' has sold a record-breaking 3.38 million copies in its first week on sale in America, which is the most ever recorded.

After just one week on sale it's already sold almost twice as many copies as Taylor Swift's 1989 album has in the whole of 2015.

Let's take a closer look at some of the other records Adele has smashed.

Released on 20 November '25' is already the biggest selling album of 2015 in America, becoming the first album to sell more than three million copies in a week. This means she knocks the musical powerhouse Taylor Swift off the top spot, who sold 1.8 million copies of her album '1989' this year.

Adele has been topping the charts here in the UK too. Her new album '25' broke records for selling the highest number of albums in a week in the UK charts. It sold more than 800,000 copies - that's more than the next 86 albums in the charts put together - Crikey!

Her song 'Hello' became the first track to be downloaded more than 1 million times in a week in America. This pushed it straight to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, which looks at music sales, streaming and radio play.
