Countries from across the world are meeting in Johannesburg to talk about protecting the world's wildlife.
One of the key issues being discussed is the drastic decline in the number of elephants in the world. One of the greatest threats to these animals is the illegal poaching of elephants for their tusks.
Even though it is not allowed, criminals are killing elephants and selling their tusks around the world for large amounts of money. This is the illegal ivory trade. However, buying and selling some kinds of ivory within certain countries is still legal.
