Her Majesty The Queen started the 2018 London Marathon by pressing this button in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

And they're off! Elite runners get a head start, as they begin the marathon on a hot and sunny day in London. This race has beaten records as the hottest London marathon ever.

Vivian Cheruiyot of Kenya won the women's elite race in two hours, 18 minutes and 31 seconds.

Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge won the marathon for a third time, in the elite men's race.

Britain's Mo Farah came in third place, he finished two minutes, five seconds behind Kipchoge.

He crossed the line in two hours, six minutes and 32 seconds to set a new British record.
