Barbie at 65: New celebrity dolls released for anniversary

Barbie is turning 65.
That's right, the world-famous doll is celebrating her 65th anniversary on 9 March.
Since she was first created by Ruth Handler in 1959, Barbie has had more than 250 jobs, including astronaut, vet, firefighter, robotics engineer and US president.
To celebrate this year, Barbie has said it is releasing a line of dolls inspired by celebrity women who are "one-of-a-kind role models", as well as collectible dolls inspired by her 1959 outfit, and cuddly Barbies.
Which celebrities are being turned into Barbies in 2024?
As part of the 65th anniversary celebrations, eight famous women are being turned into Barbie dolls.
British actress Dame Helen Mirren, who played the narrator in the new Barbie movie and also voiced the Dean in Monster's University, has been turned into a doll.
Global pop superstars Shania Twain and Kylie Minogue have also been turned into Barbie dolls.
Award-winning US author and actor Viola Davis has also been celebrated with her own Barbie doll, as well as German comedian Enissa Amani, and Japanese model Nicole Fujita.
As has Maira Gomez, content creator from the indigenous community of the Tatuyo ethnic group in Amazonas, Brazil, and award-winning Mexican producer and director Lila Avilés.
