Thrill-seekers listen up! The UK could soon be home to the tallest rides in Europe.

The current tallest ride in the UK is Hyperia at Thorpe Park which is 72m tall - that's the equivalent of 16 double decker buses stacked on top of each other.

But the new Universal Studios theme park set to be built in Bedford could see rides reaching 115m. That's around 25 double decker buses!

Red Force at PortAdventura World in Spain is currently the tallest rollercoaster in Europe at 112m tall.

Plans have been submitted by Universal for the new theme park which is set to open in Bedford in 2031.

Universal Orlando Resort in the US doesn't have rides as tall as those being planned for the UK park.

In planning documents, Universal said: "Taller attractions are more common in Europe, where rides need to be taller to create the experience, as space is more constrained."

They added the guests will experience "adrenaline-pumping coasters", "mind-blowing spectaculars" and will "come face-to-face with incredible creatures, heroes, and villains".

"They'll discover great food, new laughs, new ways to play, and step into immersive worlds they've only ever dreamed of," the plans said.
