Universal says it would be one of Europe's biggest theme parks and is aiming to get around 8.5 million visitors in its first year.
BBC News reporter Danny Fullbrook, who works in the region, says that locals who live nearby have responded positively to the plans, though some are concerned with how the area will handle the amount of expected visitors.

Lisa Nandy, who's the government minister in charge of culture, media and sport, told the BBC that the theme park idea wasn't just about showing off American films, but also about "showcasing great British creations".

Universal Studios theme parks in Orlando, Hollywood, Beijing and Japan already have the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. While Minion land and Super Nintendo land also feature in some of the existing theme parks.
