It's still hat, gloves and wellies weather for a slippery walk to school this morning, with freezing temperatures and icy conditions continuing to affect much of the UK.

The extreme weather has caused some schools to close and fresh weather warnings for snow and ice have been issued across many areas across southern England, Wales, Northern Ireland and northern Scotland.

Weather forecasters predict another extremely cold night ahead.

Lows of -15C to -20C are expected in parts of Scotland and northern England

The cold weather has already brought heavy snowfall, and flood alerts and warnings are in place due to either heavy rain or melting snow.

Parts of the country are recovering from severe flooding.

One of the areas that was been badly affected is the county of Lincolnshire in England.

Theo, along with 50 other classmates, needed help on Monday after their school was cut off by floodwater.

It's not just people being helped, as animals in affected areas have also had to be rescued.

The volunteers at a farm, not far away from Theo's school, were helping ponies, goats, chickens and sheep who had all become stuck in floodwater.
