Taylor has announced more details about her upcoming 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl.

It's been a whirlwind week for fans of the pop superstar.

Earlier this week, she announced the name of her latest album, but kept the release date and album cover a secret.

Now, on a podcast with her boyfriend and NFL star Travis Kelce, she's lifted the curtain on more super-exciting details about the record.

When will The Life of a Showgirl be released?

The upcoming album will mark Taylor's 12th era.

It's the question on every Swifties lips - and now we have an answer!

The album will be released on 3 October 2025, so fans don't have long to wait.

It's already available for pre-order on her official website, and will be shipped to fans before 13 October.

What is on the cover of The Life of a Showgirl?

Taylor said the colour orange, which has featured lots in album teasers and on the cover itself, makes her feel energised.

As well as the release date, Swift revealed the cover of The Life of a Showgirl.

It features her wearing a jewelled dress lying in water, with only her face and wrist above the surface.

She said the cover represents the private moments after she's left the stage.

"This represents the end of my night... My show days are the same every single day, I just have a different city.

"And my day ends with me in a bathtub - not usually in a bedazzled dress.", she said.

What inspired The Life of a Showgirl?

Taylor says the new album reveals life 'behind the curtain'.

Taylor also explained the inspiration behind the album.

She said the album is about "the life beyond the show", and is "everything that was going on behind the curtain".

She also revealed that the album was written whilst she was on her Eras tour, and that she often travelled to Sweden to record the songs in-between her sell-out arena shows.

"I was basically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating," she said.

What will The Life of a Showgirl sound like?

The Life of a Showgirl looks set to be a more upbeat album than her last.

If you enjoy dancing to Taylor's tunes - you could be in luck!

According to boyfriend Travis , the upcoming album is a complete change of style from The Tortured Poets Department.

He described The Life of a Showgirl as "upbeat", and said it would get people dancing.

Taylor described the album as "joyful", too.

Taylor said the Life of a Showgirl is "the record I've been wanting to make for a very long time".

"I'm so proud of it, and it just comes from, like, the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life, and so that effervescence has come through on this record.

"I wanted the album to feel the way my life felt, and this completely matches the way that my life has felt." Taylor said.
