This is how Taylor Swift shared the news of her engagement to American football player Travis Kelce on her social media.

The couple have been together for two years now, and the pictures shared show NFL star Travis bending down on one knee and giving Taylor a ring in a woodland, surrounded by flowers.

The post has now been liked more than 25 million times, with friends, family and fans from all over the world sharing their joy at the news, and sending congratulations and well wishes to the couple.

The couple were surrounded by flowers like roses, anemones, delphiniums and hydrangeas for the proposal.

Her choice of words for the post: "your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married" is an in-joke with her fans, who like to jokingly describe the couple as an English teacher and gym teacher.

Taylor also added her song So High School, from her album the Tortured Poets Department to the post - which many people think is about Travis.

"I feel so high school every time I look at you," she sings.

The news also comes shortly after Taylor announced her new album - The Life of a Showgirl - and revealed more details about it on a special podcast hosted by Travis and his brother.
