It's dedicated to all the precious pooches in our lives who we couldn't imagine life without.

The annual day celebrates dogs of all breeds and backgrounds.

What do you love most about your dog?

Created in 2004, the day is all about bringing awareness to the condition of animals and to encourage adoption.

It also aims to encourage people to take better care of their pets and make more responsible choices when it comes to getting or looking after a dog.

Whether your dog is big or small, tiny or tall, has long hair or short, loves naps or can't live without sport, today's the day to give your pup some praise.
