Jersey's Zoo has welcomed a new baby sloth
- Published
A baby sloth welcomed by Jersey Zoo last month will soon be getting some very slooow visitors.
Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, which runs the zoo, has reopened the sloth enclosure this week.
However, there are some important conditions in place to allow mum Terry and her new baby, which was born on the 15 January, to become more comfortable around people visiting the zoo.
The sloth house will only be open from 2pm to 4pm each day and a maximum of 12 people will able to see the two-toed animals at a time.
There's also one very interesting rule those looking to catch a glimpse of the precious pair will need to follow.
"When you visit, please act like a sloth: slow and quiet!" the zoo shared on social media.

The sloth's birth is a big deal for the zoo
Sloths are know for their incredibly slow movements which is actually down to how their bodies use the food they eat. Sloths have a very low metabolic rate because of their restricted diets which consist largely of leaves and this means they move slower to save energy.
The baby sloth's birth is "an important milestone" for the zoo and its special breeding programme, which paired sloth mum Terry and dad Rio together in hopes they would breed.
Unfortunately, Rio passed away shortly after, but the arrival of the new addition reflects the "critical role" in conserving the species for the future Durrell said.
All this sloth talk has got us thinking - which animal would you want to move like and why? Perhaps you'd like to be super fast like a cheetah, or fly high in the sky like an eagle! You can let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
