The lido's 'mutts-do' event is always 'pupular' with local dogs

A pool in Yorkshire has opened its doors for a dogs-only swim.

The special end of year doggy paddle at Ilkley Pool and Lido saw dogs of all shapes and sizes leaping in for a dip.

But no humans were invited - this pawsome treat was just for dogs!

The plucky pups braved temperatures as low as 9C last weekend in the outdoor pool for their end-of-year splash.

Humans wanting to take a swim still had the dog-free option of the heated indoor pool, whilst the outdoor pool was strictly for doggy paddling only.

Brrr, definitely not a hot dog at the pool

Now all the happy, splashing dogs have had their fun during the special weekend, the pool will be cleaned and emptied, ready for next year.

Some owners braved the cold water to play with their dogs

It's the last swim of the season and the outdoor pool won't open again until May when the weather warms up.

But thanks to some diving dogs and their hardy owners it looks like the lido's season has ended on a very pawsitive note.
