This image was voted as the overall winner for 2025
Yury Ivanov, a photographer based in Indonesia, was named Ocean Photographer of the Year 2025.
His vibrant image of a pair of amphipods, which are also known as the 'ladybugs of the sea', perched on coral impressed the panel of judges.
The tiny crustaceans' bodies measure just 3mm long.
"It required a lot of patience and precision to compose and light the shot properly," Ivanov told Ocean Photographer of the Year.
"It was taken at a depth of 19 metres, during a sunny day with calm sea conditions. In total, it took me six dives to get the shot I wanted. The result reveals an intimate glimpse of underwater life that is often overlooked."

There were lots of other photos which left an impression on the judges, including this one of a bright yellow gobiid fish which won the wildlife category.
The image shows a female releasing her newly hatched larvae into the water from her mouth.

How incredible is this photo? Snapped in the US state of Washington, it shows a male orca dramatically leaping from the water.
There were lots of lucky onlookers who got to witness the moment including two people who were photographed capturing the special moment.

This pea crab was seen scuttling along in Rudnaya Bay in Russia.
The photographer expressed how lucky he was to capture the photo as pea crabs spend the majority of their lives inside the shells of grey mussels.

How striking is this photograph of a marine iguana?
The species can only be found on the Galápagos Islands and has a very distinctive look.
This one was snapped sneezing out excess salt it had absorbed after a dive.
