Inside Out 2 makes more money than any other animated film - or does it?

Inside Out 2 has taken £1.13 billion in just the first six weeks of its release, making it the highest grossing animated film of all time - but there's a catch...
First, 'grossing' isn't anything to do with Disgust, who's one of the characters representing different emotions that return to the screen in the newest Disney sequel.
It just means the amount of money that the film has made as a profit, already beating the 2019 record for Frozen 2, which took £1.12 billion at the box office.
However, it's not the highest grossing Disney animation. Confused? Read on to find out more...

While Inside Out 2 is officially the highest grossing animated film ever, it actually falls into second place behind another Disney movie.
The new 2019 version of The Lion King made £1.28 billion overall and, like Inside Out 2, is made with computer-generated animation.
But as it was classed by Disney as a live-action remake, it's not considered to be an animated movie in the same way as the Frozen or Inside Out films.
We're only six weeks into the cinema release of Inside Out 2, so there's still a chance that it could make more money than The Lion King - even if it's in a different category.
The new figures show that Inside Out 2 has also beaten last year's Barbie movie in global ticket sales.
