Bluey is heading to the big screen in 2027

The Bluey movie will be released in cinemas in two years

There's some big news for fans of the animated series Bluey.

The lovable Blue Heeler pup is starring in her very own movie!

The feature-length film will be released in cinemas on 6 August 2027, BBC Studios and Walt Disney Studios have announced.

It'll be written and directed by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and produced by Ludo Studio in collaboration with BBC Studios.

"I really enjoyed the experience of working with a longer format...in Series 3, so going even further with a feature film feels like a natural extension of that," Bluey creator Joe Brumm said.

"I've always thought 'Bluey' deserved a theatrical movie. I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together."

Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack will return as the voices of Bluey's mum Mum, Chilli and Dad, Bandit.

It'll also have music created by Bluey composer Joff Bush.
