What after school clubs do you take part in?

For many pupils across the UK, learning doesn't stop at the end of the normal school day.

Lots of students take part in after school clubs.

They're often the perfect opportunity to try out brand new activities you may have never done before, or to brush up on your existing skills in a particular sport or craft.

Examples of after school clubs can range from sports like football, swimming and athletics to activities like drama, cooking, gardening, crocheting, debate club and even coding.

Clubs can also provide children with a chance to improve skills like reading and writing, or to get help with homework.

There are some schools, however, which offer rather unusual activities for students to take part in.

Arts and crafts are a popular after school activity

The spotlight was shone on one school in Harrogate earlier this year, after one of the teachers, who used to be a vet in Tanzania, set up a 'vet club' for Year 5 and Year 6 students.

Pupils there have gotten the chance to get up close to real animal bones!

Another school in Hereford made headlines after introducing quidditch, a sport made famous in the Harry Potter books, to students.

It quickly became the most popular sport among the pupils.
