The new Nintendo Switch 2 has been officially revealed - what do you think of its design?

The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 has finally been revealed and we want to know what you think of the new features, games and developments!

Nintendo, the Japanese company behind the console, say it will be on sale from Thursday 5 June, but people will be able to pre-order from April.

But how much is it?

Prices start from £395.99 for just the console on its own. Game bundles will add to the price and there are additional costs for items they say will upgrade your gaming experience.

Let's take a look at what has been promised with Nintendo's latest gaming console.

The new Nintendo Switch 2 will come with magnetic Joy-Cons

First up, the console is a similar shape to the Switch, but there are a few updates compared to the original version, which was launched in 2017.

The Switch 2 has a larger screen (just over 20cm compared to the Switch's 15.7cm) and a sleek, all-black design contrasting with the colourful red and blue Joy-Cons the original Switch has.

These removable controllers can also be attached to the console screen by magnets, and can also be used as a mouse in certain games.

The control sticks on the front are larger - which the company say will make them easier to use.

Switch 2's C button - what does it do?

There is also a brand new "C" button which many Nintendo fans have been speculating about.

This button activates a chat feature, allowing users to communicate with friends whilst they are playing games together.

Nintendo say the Switch 2 has eight times more storage inside it, meaning it should perform quicker than the last version and has more memory to save your games onto it.

There is also a stand-alone camera available so your friends can see your faces whilst playing.

But the camera will cost extra, and players will also have to pay for an online membership to benefit from the GameChat feature.

The use of GameChat will also be controlled by parents or guardians - who will have to grant permission or approval whenever young players want to chat with people online.

Mario Kart World will be released on the same day as the Switch 2

A brand new Mario Kart game, called Mario Kart World, was announced at the same time as the console.

Familiar Nintendo characters - including Donkey Kong and Princess Peach - can be spotted in the preview game footage, zooming along new courses.

Nintendo say there will be a chance to off-road on some courses, and that the weather in the course will change depending on the time of day.

Other popular titles which have had Switch 2 upgrades include Kirby and the Forgotten Land, new titles in the Zelda franchise and the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games.

There is also a new game called Drag x Drive which appears to be inspired by wheelchair basketball.

Plus, a brand new 3D Donkey Kong game called Donkey Kong Bananza will be released in the summer.
