Egyptian mummy scanned at children's hospital

A children's hospital in Manchester has had an unusually old patient - a 3,000-year-old Egyptian mummy!

The mummy was transported from Perth Museum in Scotland so scientists could examine it using the latest medical technology.

In ancient Egypt, when important people died, their bodies were wrapped in linen to preserve them.

CT scan and X-rays will allow experts to find out more about the mummy's life and death without damaging its bandages.
