Cancer research: What are scientists doing to help?
Cancer is a disease which affects lots of adults and children in the UK and around the world.
It’s something scientists have spent decades researching.
Ricky met up with Diego whose family has been impacted by a type of cancer called leukaemia.
They went to visit a lab in Manchester to see what work scientists are doing to help treat the disease.
They spoke to scientist Dr Simona Valletta, from the Univeristy of Manchester.
Simona and her team - with help from funding from charities like Leukemia UK - are working on finding a cure for the disease.
She told Ricky and Diego what her job is like and why research like theirs is so important.
