What is the Millennium Seed Bank and why is it important?
It's not just animals threatened by climate change, habitat loss and pollution.
Plants need protecting too, and that was the mission of the Millennium Seed Bank (MSB) when it opened 25 years ago.
Researchers at Kew Gardens in London created the MSB to preserve rare, threatened and important wild plants and keep them safe for future generations.
Since the year 2000, the seed bank has become home to nearly 2.5 billion seeds from more than 40,000 species of wild plants from around the world.
