Island Games 2015: Jersey's Dan Romeril wins 3000m steeplechase

Jersey's Dan Romeril dominated the 3000m steeplechase to take gold at the 2015 Island Games.

The schoolteacher beat Guernsey's silver medallist Ed Mason by over six seconds to win gold in his first-ever Island Games race on his home track.

"I'm ecstatic," Romeril told BBC Radio Jersey. "I've been looking forward to it for the last few months.

Meanwhile his Jersey teammate Ross Jeffs won long jump bronze, 0.16m off Gotland's Daniel Örevik who won gold.

Elsewhere Guernsey's Louis Perrio added 10,000m bronze to the half marathon third place she won on Sunday.

She finished just under a minute behind the winner, Gibraltar's half marathon gold-medallist Kim Baglietto.
