Plymouth Raiders have signed reigning British Basketball League Most Valuable Player Jeremy Bell.
The 28-year-old American took scored an average of 23 points per game with Cheshire Jets last season to land him the MVP award.
Bell's signing means fellow American Ben Smith has been released by the Raiders as they are only allowed three non-EU players in their squad.
Bell goes straight into the squad for Saturday's BBL Cup match at Durham.
"It was a tough decision to make," said Raiders coach Gavin Love, on releasing Smith.
"But it's better to make it now rather than later in the season and bring in a great player like Jeremy who will really enhance the team.
"Ben has done a good job while he's been here and he's a great guy who has worked hard, but I thought we were lacking in a few important areas, and Jeremy helps to address these," he added.
