Basketball: Honour for Leicester Riders Rob Paternostro

Leicester Riders coach Rob Paternostro has been named British Basketball League coach of the year.

The Riders have already won the BBL Cup and Championship double this season and have secured a spot in the last four of the league play-offs.

Paternostro was chosen to win the 2012/13 accolade by the Basketball Journalists Association.

Sheffield Sharks coach Atiba Lyons took second place and Creon Raftopoulos of Surrey Heat was voted in third.

Paternostro's side will travel to Plymouth Raiders for the first leg of the BBL play-offs semi-final on Friday with the home leg on Sunday.

Newcastle Eagles take on Surrey Heat in the other semi-final. The winners will face each other in the final at Wembley Arena on 28 April.
