Kid Galahad claimed the European super-bantamweight title with a convincing unanimous decision against Spaniard Sergio Prado in Sheffield.
The 24-year-old, real name Abdul Barry Awad, beat Prado, 31, with a points verdict in front of a home crowd.
Judge Anssi Perajoki gave Galahad every round, with his two colleagues scoring the bout 117-111 and 118-110.
"I boxed very well. We knew the kid was tough, he came to fight and I give him full credit," Galahad told Channel 5.
"I had him a couple of times but the referee kept on saying I was pushing him down.
"I knew it was going to be a hard fight, every time I caught him he'd come back, and that's why I trained my hardest."
Unbeaten in all 16 of his professional fights, Galahad will now be hopeful of securing a world title fight next year.
