Glasgow 2014: Jersey name Commonwealth Games team

Jersey's team hope to end a 24-year wait for a medal

Jersey have named a 40-strong team for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

British discus champion Zane Duquemin leads their medal hopes as the island hope to get on the podium for the first time since 1990, when Colin Mallett won two shooting medals.

They are also looking to their badminton team, which contains three former England players, as well as the bowls team, as medal hopes.

Jersey are represented in gymnastics and table tennis for the first time.

Jersey 2014 Commonwealth Games team:

Athletics: Zane Duquemin, Shadine Duquemin, Simon Phelan.

Badminton: Elizabeth Cann, Marianna Agathangelou, Solenn Pasturel, Mark Constable, Alex Hutchins.

Cycling: Rhys Hidrio, James Patterson, Chris Spence, Richard Tanguy.

Gymnastics: Charlotte Pollard.

Lawn Bowls: Chris Grimes, Lindsey Greechan, Alison Camacho, Susan Noel, Katie Nixon, Greg Davies, Thomas Greechan, John Lowery, Jamie Macdonald, Malcolm de Sousa.
