India were forced to settle for a draw, despite making Bangladesh follow on in their rain-ruined Test in Fatullah.

Fewer than 200 overs were possible in the game, in which India racked up 462-6 declared after batting first.

Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took five wickets as the Tigers were dismissed for 256 and then asked to bat again.

However, the hosts survived 15 overs before the captains shook hands on a draw which sees India drop to fourth in the Test rankings.

South Africa, Australia and New Zealand make up the top three respectively, while England are fifth.

The two sides will now contest a three-match one-day international series in Mirpur with the first game on Thursday.
