German sprinter Marcel Kittel and Dame Sarah Storey will join Sir Bradley Wiggins at the first Tour de Yorkshire, which takes place in May.

Kittel returns to Yorkshire a year after wearing the first yellow jersey in Harrogate at the Tour de France.

Wiggins, the 2012 Tour de France winner, has confirmed he will lead his own Team Wiggins developmental squad after he leaves Team Sky in April.

Storey will compete in the women's race on day two of the Tour de Yorkshire.

The Tour will begin on 1 May with a stage from Bridlington to Scarborough, followed by Selby to York on 2 May, and Wakefield to Leeds on 3 May.

Seven of the teams who raced in last year's Tour de France will return to Yorkshire, with the complete rider line-ups to be announced in April.

The women's race, featuring 11-time Paralympic champion Storey, will take place on 2 May across four 20km laps of a circuit in York.
