Cambridge United sign Bromley full-back Harrison Dunk

Dunk becomes boss Jez George's third summer signing

Cambridge United have made their third signing of the season by bringing in Bromley full-back Harrison Dunk.

The 20-year-old has agreed a two-year deal after turning down a new contract at the Blue Square Bet South side.

Because he is under 24 and was offered new terms, Bromley will be due a nominal compensation fee.

"Harrison is an exciting young talent and we are delighted to have secured his services," manager Jez George told the club website.

"We first saw him play towards the end of last season and were so impressed that we closely monitored his performances since.

"Harrison is quick, naturally left footed and we see him being able to play primarily as a wide-left but also offering cover to James Jennings at left-back.

"We are pleased that he has chosen Cambridge United as the right club to further develop his game and give him the opportunity to become full-time and play at a higher level."

Harrison won the Bromley supporters', manager's and committee's player of the year for the 2010/11 campaign.

"I'm delighted to sign. After having spoken to Jez I'm excited by his plans for the season in developing a young but successful side in which I want to be an integral part of," he said.

"I've heard Cambridge has a great fanbase with a great history and so I can't wait for the new season to start."

The U's have already added Tamworth defender Michael Wylde and Kidderminster midfielder Tom Shaw this summer.
