Bristol Rovers sign Morecambe midfielder Craig Stanley

Stanley joined Morecambe from Hereford in the summer of 2006

Bristol Rovers have signed midfielder Craig Stanley from Morecambe on a two-year deal.

The 28-year-old, who was on loan at Torquay under new Rovers manager Paul Buckle from January this year, becomes the club's third signing in two days.

Chairman Nick Higgs told the Pirates website: "Paul was very impressed with him and keen to work with him again.

"He is a creative midfielder, who fits the style of play we want here. I am delighted he has decided to join us."

Stanley began his career at Walsall, and is the only player to win promotion to the Football League via the play-offs in successive seasons, with Hereford in 2005/06 and Morecambe in 2006/07.
