Accrington 2-2 Port Vale

Accrington twice came from behind against Port Vale to secure their first point under new manager Paul Cook.

Vale, who are facing administration, took the lead when John McCombe headed in after Lee Nicholls failed to clear.

But Stanley equalised when Padraig Amond pounced from six yards out before Chris Shuker's long-range effort went through Nicholls's hands for 2-1.

Substitute Will Hatfield won the hosts a point, shooting home from the edge of the area with only two minutes left.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Port Vale boss Micky Adams told BBC Radio Stoke:

"Once again you can't knock the players. There was plenty of excuses for them, but I just feel sorry for them really.

"I'm not even bothered about the result today, I'm just a bit flat - I've got a lot on my mind.

"The players have had a lot to contend with this week, but I didn't see anybody shirking responsibility today."
