League Two Morecambe surprised neighbours Blackpool in the Capital One Cup first round.
The Shrimps led within six minutes when Lewis Alessandra scored from the edge of the area.
Blackpool's Matt Phillips hit the bar and was made to pay when Andrew Fleming dummied keeper Matt Gilks from Andrew Wright's ball and slotted home.
Alex Baptiste gave the hosts hope from close range and Phillips almost forced extra-time as he hit the post again.
