Tranmere Rovers dropped to second in League One after playing out a goalless draw at Crewe Alexandra.

On-loan Manchester City striker Harry Bunn was carried off on a stretcher with a knee injury after clashing with Rovers keeper Owain Fon Williams.

Tranmere had a chance to snatch all three points late on but Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro directed a header straight at Crewe keeper Alan Martin.

Tranmere lost top spot as Notts County beat Shrewsbury Town 3-2.

Crewe boss Steve Davis told BBC Radio Stoke:

"Again it was a decent performance against a team who are unbeaten in the league and that comes on the back of beating Coventry here, so we are heading in the right direction.

"We are not too sure about Harry Bunn and the extent of the damage.

"I think he landed funny and locked his knee. He will have an X-ray and see from there, but hopefully it isn't as bad as it looked."
