Aldershot 1-0 Barnet

Craig Reid's third goal of the season gave Aldershot their first win since the opening day of the campaign as they defeated bottom-of-the-table Barnet.

Barnet's Ricky Holmes cleared Ollie Lancashire's header off the line in the opening exchanges while Bees full-back Jordan Brown also saw his effort saved.

John Oster went close for the visitors with his shot from distance.

But Aldershot took the lead through Reid's sliding finish and Barnet had no response to his goal.

Shots were patient - Holdsworth

Aldershot Town manager Dean Holdsworth told BBC Surrey:

"I'm delighted for everyone involved tonight. I thought they were excellent and we had to be patient and wait for that bit of brilliance and I'm delighted with the three points.

"There was nothing wrong with the effort but what there was brilliance in the final third that we needed and we found it - it was a great ball from Adam Mekki.

"Adam knows we think a lot about him and he knows there's a pressure on him. He is an important key for us, he's got a lot of potential and he's a match winner."
