Preston 3-2 Yeovil

A fine individual display from winger Jeffrey Monakana helped Preston to victory against 10-man Yeovil.

The former Arsenal youngster equalised from Will Hayhurst's cross, after Gavin Williams had given the Glovers the lead from the penalty spot.

Monakana crossed for Chris Beardsley to nod Preston in front, before visiting midfielder Ed Upson was sent off.

Dan Burn, making his Football League debut for Yeovil, netted at both ends at the death as North End held on.

Burn's header from a Jamie McAllister free-kick gave his side hope of a late comeback but they were unable to level at Deepdale.

Johnson bemoans 'timid' Yeovil

"It's always a frustrating watch when your team doesn't perform for long enough.

"We started off alright and through most of the first half we did alright.

"They went in at half-time thinking they could get back in to it and unfortunately they came out and put us under pressure.

"We've got to have a look at who is not performing and we will do that."
