Rory Delap: Burton Albion take veteran midfielder on trial
- Published

Former Derby County and Stoke City midfielder Rory Delap is having a trial with League Two side Burton Albion.
The 37-year-old, who was released by the Potters in the summer, was on loan with Barnsley last season but his hopes of a permanent move came to nothing.
Delap played 45 minutes for the Brewers in Tuesday's 1-0 friendly defeat away against Ilkeston FC
Manager Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Derby: "We are both having a look at each other over the next few days."
Republic of Ireland international Delap, who is renowned for his long throw-ins, began his career with Carlisle United, but joined Derby in 1998 and has played the majority of his career in the Premier League.
