Scott Wootton scored on his debut as Leeds progressed to the Capital One Cup third round with a win over Yorkshire rivals Doncaster.

The defender put his team ahead when he turned in from a Matt Smith flick.

Billy Paynter headed Doncaster level from a David Cotterill cross just after the hour at the Keepmoat Stadium.

But Smith restored the lead with a powerful header before Ross McCormack converted from the spot after Reece Wabara had fouled Dominic Poleon.
