Bristol Rovers 1-0 Northampton

Tom Lockyer's second-minute header earned Bristol Rovers a battling win over Northampton.

The 19-year-old grabbed his first goal for Rovers when he nodded home a left-wing cross from Lee Brown.

In a game of few chances, Chris Hackett almost levelled late on with a curling free-kick that hit the post.

But the hosts held on, and Northampton's misery was complete in injury-time when striker Roy O'Donovan was sent off for a second yellow card.

"It's a great result and a big result because it makes the difference from having four or five points to having seven.

"We can enter the next game [against Bristol City] with the confidence and the attention it deserves.

"I'm really pleased with the effort and the way the boys have gone about the job.

"It would be easy to get side tracked by what's happening next Wednesday but we haven't - we've put that away in the training ground and also within the club."
