Fleetwood 4-1 Torquay

Antoni Sarcevic netted a first-half brace to set Fleetwood up for a convincing win over Torquay.

The summer signing powered a header past goalkeeper Martin Rice from a Junior Brown cross to open the scoring, and then rifled a second from 20 yards.

Jamille Matt trickled the ball through heavy traffic for the hosts' third, before substitute Elliot Benyon thumped in from a rare Gulls attack.

Fleetwood responded with Matty Blair scrambling home a David Ball cross.

Fleetwood manager Graham Alexander told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"It's only comfortable when you work as hard as we did. The tempo we set at the start of the game set the standard for the whole 90 minutes.

"We got a good lead and kept it, although I'm disappointed to concede a goal at the end.

"It's great to see the lads arguing in the changing room afterwards about conceding a goal, which is a great sign."
